A short run, stuck wheel, weak brush, or dock problem does not prove that a particular part has failed. Check the symptom and the exact robot first. Batteries, drive wheels, chargers, motors, pumps, and internal assemblies also have different service and safety boundaries; a part shown online is not automatically an owner-replaceable part.
Confirm the fault before naming a part
Start with the robot’s own alert and current model manual. For a short run, check the supported charging path and maintenance guidance before concluding that the battery needs replacement. eufy’s support guidance treats very short runtime as a reason to consider battery age, then directs owners to different battery groups for different RoboVac families. That is a model-selection example, not proof that every short run is a battery fault.
A wheel that stops turning can be obstructed. ECOVACS’s stuck-wheel FAQ tells owners to power off the robot, turn it over, and remove entangled debris by pressing and rotating the drive wheels. Follow that procedure only for the ECOVACS model to which it applies; for another robot, use its exact manual. If the wheel remains stuck, is damaged, or the fault appears to be inside the drive assembly, stop and use the manufacturer’s service route.
Xiaomi’s FAQ for the Robot Vacuum 6 Max gives a model-specific caster removal, cleaning, and refitting procedure, but that section does not identify a replacement part number. Use the current instructions only for a confirmed 6 Max; they do not establish fit for another Xiaomi model or identify a wheel SKU.
Separate routine parts from service-sensitive parts
| Part type | Check before ordering | Stop and seek support when… |
|---|---|---|
| Battery | Exact robot SKU, battery part number, chemistry, voltage, connector, mounting, region, and supported replacement procedure. | The pack is swollen, hot, leaking, damaged, smells unusual, has exposed wiring, or the correct procedure is unclear. |
| Wheel or caster | Exact left/right or front/rear position, model revision, part number, and whether the visible issue is debris or damage. | The wheel, housing, wiring, or drive assembly is damaged or still fails after permitted cleaning. |
| Charger or power adapter | Robot and dock identifiers, electrical rating, plug, region, and the exact manufacturer-listed part. | The cable, plug, outlet, charging contacts, or dock is damaged, overheated, wet, or behaving abnormally. |
| Motor, pump, or internal assembly | Exact model and service information; confirm whether the manufacturer supplies it to owners or routes it through service. | The work involves internal electronics, mains power, a water path near electronics, or a procedure not clearly supported for the model. |
This is a verification checklist, not a repair procedure. Do not open a battery pack, bypass a connector, substitute a charger by appearance, or test a questionable part on the robot. A failed purchase can damage the robot or leave a safety issue unresolved.
Capacity or a shared brand is not enough
Match the complete model and part number, not just a family name or a marketplace title. iRobot’s current battery chart lists two 3000 mAh LFP batteries for the Roomba 100/1000 and 200/2000 families, then explicitly says that different shapes make them non-interchangeable. Its chart also separates other model and SKU groups. The example shows why capacity, voltage, connector appearance, or manufacturer name alone cannot establish battery fit.
Some listings add a purchase-date condition. iRobot’s US listing for battery 4844236 names Combo 10 Max without a date qualifier, but lists Combo j7+, Combo j9+, and Roomba j9+ only for robots purchased after July 15, 2024. Check the exact model and purchase date against the current regional listing; this page is not an iRobot-wide battery chart, and its inventory can change.
Manufacturer availability and service rules can vary by model and year. Roborock’s US repair and spare-parts policy says availability varies by model, production year, and inventory; some components may require professional installation or specialized tools and may be supplied only through authorized repair channels. The policy gives eligible replacement parts bought from Roborock or its authorized channels a 90-day limited warranty from delivery for defects in materials or workmanship. It excludes normal-wear consumables such as brushes, filters, and mop pads, and says this coverage applies to the replacement part only, not the original robot warranty. Check the current terms, purchase channel and date, exclusions, and return conditions for the exact part and country. This US policy does not establish UK or Canadian terms or an individual warranty outcome.
Record the purchase decision
Before you order, write down the exact robot model/SKU, the suspected component, manufacturer part number, country, dock or base model where relevant, and source of the fitment claim. Mark a match as manufacturer-listed only when the current manufacturer page names the exact model and part. Otherwise leave it as conditional or not verified, and ask the manufacturer when a battery, electrical component, pump, motor, or internal assembly is involved.
A parts catalog can connect a complete unit code to a listed part identifier. For example, Encompass’s parts catalog lists a brush assembly and schematic location for Eureka E10s code NERE10SWH. Treat that as catalog information for the exact code: it does not establish fit for every E10s variant, owner-serviceability, or current stock.
For the distinction between official, authorized, third-party, refurbished, and unclear sellers, see how to assess a part source. For filters, brushes, and mop pads, use the consumable selection checklist. A part-source label does not replace the model-to-part check.
Before ordering, use Compatibility & Fitment to look for a record covering the exact robot, wheel side or component, and part. If the record does not cover your model revision, confirm the match with the manufacturer.
