If a carpet gets wet during a mop run, first confirm the robot is the DEEBOT X5 OMNI White and note which carpet and cleaning mode were involved. ECOVACS explains that higher-pile carpet can trigger carpet detection and start lifting the mop pads, but the robot keeps moving while the pads rise. It may therefore travel onto carpet before the pads are fully lifted. The support page does not give a carpet-height threshold, travel distance, or lift time.

Set a boundary in the map

For this model-specific symptom, ECOVACS recommends setting a virtual wall where needed. Its FAQ gives this app path: Smart Cleaning, Map, Edit Map, Virtual Wall. Add a boundary at the carpet edge using the controls available for the exact robot and app. If the labels or options differ, use the current instructions for the X5 OMNI White rather than copying another model’s menu path.

The FAQ does not describe this behavior as a failed water valve or provide a repair procedure. Do not infer that a water-system part has failed from damp carpet alone. If the supported map boundary does not address the problem, record the surface and run details and contact ECOVACS for the exact product.

Roborock carpet-avoidance names and behavior are not a rule for this ECOVACS model. For general checks that distinguish a dry pad, a water-delivery issue, and carpet settings, see mop water-path diagnosis. If the robot stops or misses a route, use stopping and missed-area diagnosis.
