The Max 700 Vac and Combo have different filter parts. Check the robot’s full name before cleaning: the Vac filter must stay dry, while the Combo’s separate filter screen may be washed and must dry fully before reassembly.

Max 700 Vac bin and filter

  1. Remove the bin, open it, and empty it. Use the supplied cleaning brush to clear debris from the bin and its accessible vacuum path.
  2. Remove the filter before rinsing the bin or water tank with warm water. Do not put the bin in a dishwasher.
  3. Clean the filter with the supplied brush. Do not wash the Vac filter.
  4. Let the bin dry completely before returning the filter and bin to the robot.

Max 700 Combo bin and filter screen

  1. Remove the dust bin using its release controls and open it.
  2. Remove the filter and its separate screen. Clear dust from the filter with the brush. The screen may be washed, but let it dry completely before attaching it to the filter again.
  3. Clean the bin with a brush or clean cloth. If you rinse the bin, remove the filter first and dry the bin completely before reassembly.

The screen’s wash permission applies to the Combo screen only; it does not apply to the Vac filter.

Max 700 Combo dirty-water bin

The Combo has a separate dirty-water bin and tubing procedure. Remove the bin, open its lid, remove the black rubber stopper, rinse the bin and tubing, wipe residue, and replace the stopper. Clean the bin’s top surface and the robot undercarriage so the bin can slide back into place, then reinstall it. Do not transfer this procedure to the Vac.

Finish and test

Check that the filter, screen, bin, and any stopper are seated as shown in iRobot’s instructions. Reinstall the bin and run a short pickup or dock test. Stop if a latch or seal is damaged, a washable part cannot dry fully, or dust and water problems persist. The manufacturer’s linked images and video help identify the parts; use the current page and your exact robot to confirm each release and orientation. These guides do not establish a regional or hardware-revision crosswalk.

For the corresponding Plus 405/415 bin and filter differences, see the separate guide. For the Max 700 brush procedure, use brush, wheel, sensor, and contact cleaning and iRobot’s model-specific support page.
