This procedure is for the iRobot Auto-Wash dock named in the Roomba Combo 10 Max care instructions. Confirm your dock and robot model first; a shared Auto-Wash name does not prove that another dock uses the same parts or cleaning method.
Check the tanks, bag, and basin
The source says to rinse the clean- and dirty-water tanks as needed. Refill the clean-water tank and leave the dirty-water tank empty before reinstalling them. Do not put either tank in a dishwasher. Replace the bag when the dock LED or iRobot Home app prompts.
The pad-washing basin and overflow basin should be cleaned when visibly dirty, monthly, or when the app indicates. Keep the drain unobstructed. The ramp may be cleaned when visibly dirty. Use the exact manual if any part on your unit differs.
Clean the pad-washing roller and filter
- Remove the pad-washing roller and filter as shown in the current iRobot instructions.
- Wipe the basins with a clean, dry cloth and check the drain for an obstruction.
- Wash the roller and filter under warm water. Pat them dry and reinstall them in the stated order.
- Confirm the roller and filter sit securely before running a wash cycle.
Do not spray water or cleaning solution onto the dock’s sensors, IR window, or visual docking target. Wipe those areas with a clean dry cloth. iRobot’s schedule lists the dock’s charging contacts every two weeks and its sensors/IR window monthly.
Let a wash cycle finish
During a documented wash-and-dry cycle, several minutes of washing and a few hours of air drying may be normal. Allow the cycle to complete; do not interrupt it just because the mop is still damp at first.
Stop and contact iRobot support if you find a leak, damaged tank, electrical exposure, or persistent dock error after cleaning the accessible components. This guide does not cover sealed pump, heater, electrical, or motor repair. For other self-washing dock systems, use general dock care and the exact model manual.
