Dreame’s Wi-Fi setup FAQ describes five errors tied to different stages of connecting a robot to the app. The page does not list the exact models or regions that use these messages. Confirm that its wording matches your robot before following a step.
Error 1: setup failed at the first step
Dreame says to avoid configuring the robot from multiple phones at once and check that the robot’s setup hotspot is on. Follow the app’s device-reset prompts to place the robot in configuration mode. If the hotspot test described in the FAQ fails, contact Dreame; it does not prove which component is faulty.
Error 2: setup failed at the second step
Check that the Dreamehome app has the location and local-network permissions it requests on your phone. Update the app if needed, then retry setup. If the official FAQ’s phone-hotspot test does not work, use Dreame support rather than opening the robot.
Error 3: setup failed at the final step
The FAQ directs owners to check that the phone is connected to the 2.4 GHz network, that the network name and password are correct, and that the router allows the device to join. It also lists VPNs, proxy servers, web-authenticated networks, and hidden network names as possible setup obstacles. Its suggestions are tied to this Dreame FAQ; router menus and app behavior can differ.
The FAQ also recommends checking the network name and password format. Before renaming a home network, confirm the change with the people and devices that use it.
Error 4: failed to connect to the EMQ server
The FAQ says the phone and robot should use the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. It notes a possible DNS-resolution issue and suggests checking with the internet provider if the connection still fails. Follow current router and Dreame instructions before changing DNS settings.
Error 5: robot hotspot not found
Move the phone close to the powered-on robot, put the robot into network configuration mode using its model’s controls, and check the phone’s Wi-Fi list for the robot hotspot. If it remains unavailable, follow the exact model’s reset and setup prompts or contact Dreame.
Do not infer a hardware failure from the code alone
These checks concern setup, phone permissions, router access, and network connection. A failed hotspot test or one setup code does not identify a failed robot component. App wording and supported networks can change, so use the current support page for your exact model and country.
