This guide follows ECOVACS Canada’s support instructions for the DEEBOT X5 PRO OMNI. Confirm the exact model before using these checks; the support page does not establish that its setting names or plate behavior apply to other DEEBOT models or regions.
Check the documented causes in order
- In the app, open Robot Advanced Settings and confirm that TruEdge Adaptive Edge Mopping is enabled. App labels can change, so use the current X5 PRO OMNI instructions if your screen differs.
- Check for a foreign object around the plate. ECOVACS says to move the plate back and forth to look for an obstruction. Keep the movement gentle; do not force a jammed plate or pry into the assembly.
- Restart the robot and see whether the plate retracts normally.
- If it still does not retract, contact ECOVACS customer service for the Canadian X5 PRO OMNI.
ECOVACS also explains a separate off-state situation: if the plate was manually extended while the robot was off, it cannot be manually retracted then; it retracts automatically when the robot is switched on. Do not keep trying to push it back while power is off.
The support page does not give an internal repair or disassembly procedure. Stop if the plate is damaged, jammed, or still fails after the listed checks. For other dry-pad or water-delivery symptoms, see mop water-path diagnosis; for an unclear or overlapping symptom, start with the model-aware first checks.
