Roborock’s US support comparison describes different mopping and obstacle-sensing systems for Saros 20 and Saros 20 Sonic. These are manufacturer feature descriptions, not independent performance tests. The comparison names product lines but does not provide a full regional model-code map or compatibility information.
Differences listed by Roborock
| System | Saros 20 | Saros 20 Sonic |
|---|---|---|
| Mopping | Dual-rotating mop module with two spinning mop cloths | VibraRise 5.0 high-frequency vibrating mop, with an extendable mop |
| Obstacle sensing | StarSight vision recognition; the FAQ also names front and rear-left StarSight systems | Reactive AI 3.0, described with tri-laser structured light, an RGB camera, and a VertiBeam side laser |
Roborock also states that Saros 20 Sonic applies 14 N of downward pressure to its mop. The comparison does not provide an independent test method for this figure or the shared capability claims, so treat these as the manufacturer’s stated specifications.
Why model identity still matters
Different mop and sensing systems mean the names are not interchangeable shortcuts when searching for instructions or replacement components. Use the exact manual for the physical robot before choosing a mop, maintenance procedure, or troubleshooting page. A feature shared between product pages does not establish that docks, accessories, or parts fit both models.
The manuals provide separate identity examples: the CE Saros 20 manual lists robot RRE0CPS and a refill-and-drainage station configuration, while the FCC/IC Saros 20 Sonic manual lists robot RRE0VES and different named docks. Those manual identifiers are useful cross-checks, but they do not prove a complete regional crosswalk to the product names in the US comparison FAQ.
Compare the robot and dock labels with the applicable local manual using the Saros model and dock guide. If the codes conflict, ask Roborock to identify the manual for your unit before using model-specific guidance.
