This guide follows Kärcher’s English RCV 5 operating instructions, document 97780170. It does not establish procedures for another Kärcher robot or a later manual revision. Unplug the RCV 5 before service as its instructions direct.

Filter and dust container are different parts

The removable filter may be cleaned under running water with the supplied cleaning tool. Let it dry completely before refitting; Kärcher gives a 3–6-month filter replacement example. The dust container itself must not be washed with water because it contains electronic components. Empty it and clean it by the method in the manual.

Brush, side brush, and sensors

Use the supplied tool to clean the main brush and its ends. Kärcher recommends replacing the main brush after 6–12 months. The side brush is removed and secured with a Phillips screwdriver. Keep the robot off its LiDAR housing when positioning it for this step; use the support points shown in the manual.

Clean the fall sensors monthly with a soft cloth. The 3-D sensor uses a soft, dust-free cloth; the manual does not assign it a fixed interval. Check that the main-brush bearing and cover are seated before restarting the robot. Do not push debris into a motor or open a sealed assembly.

Battery service

The manual routes battery replacement to Kärcher Customer Service. Do not infer owner replacement permission from the removable filter or brush steps. Contact the manufacturer when runtime declines or the battery requires service, and follow its lithium-ion shipping instructions.

For other washable-filter examples and exact-model differences, see filter cleaning. For model-specific sensor and brush precautions, see component cleaning and the Tapo guide.
