Miele’s English US/Canada manual documents owner replacement for three named Scout RX3 variants. It requires an original Miele lithium-ion battery. Identify the model on the robot before opening the storage compartment; these battery identifiers are not stated to be interchangeable.

Robot variant Original battery identifiers in the manual
Scout RX3 YCR-M05 or AP20
Scout RX3 Runner YCR-MT12 or AP30
Scout RX3 Home Vision HD YCR-MT12 or AP30

Follow all battery handling and disposal cautions in the Miele manual. This guide does not cover opening a battery pack, cell repair, or damaged-pack handling.

Scout RX3

  1. Open the storage compartment and remove the dust box.
  2. Unlatch the battery-compartment cover.
  3. Carefully draw the cable connection out of its side slot.
  4. Press the connector latch, disconnect the plug, and remove the battery.
  5. Connect the original replacement battery until the plug clicks.
  6. Position the battery and return the connection to its side slot.
  7. Close the compartment cover until it clicks.

Scout RX3 Runner and Scout RX3 Home Vision HD

These variants use a different access method. Open the storage compartment, remove the dust box, and unlatch the battery cover. Pull the battery by its tab until the connector is exposed; press the latch and disconnect it. Attach the correct original battery until the plug clicks, place it in the compartment, stow the connection in its recess, and close the cover until it clicks.

Stop if the robot label, battery identifier, connector, or cover does not match the relevant procedure. Do not force the connector or use these steps on another Scout model. See the battery safety and service guide for models whose manuals do not permit owner replacement and for damaged-battery handling.
